Pinch Pot Composite

The pinch pot method is the first skill learned in ceramics class. Students also learn the properties of clay, pressure, maintaining moisture, and building form. Students demonstrated their learning by designing and making a pinch pot composite form based on an environmental or social issue.

Slab Forms

The slab method is the third project in ceramics class. Students roll flat slabs of clay to cut and attach to make a form. Students demonstrated their learning by designing and making a slab vessel that expresses an idea of their choice.

Coil Vessel

The coil method is the second project in ceramics class. Student roll coils of clay and attach them together to build forms. Students demonstrated their learning by designing and making a coil vessel the expresses their personal aspirations in life as a young person.
